Updated: May 11, 2023

Lastic Bamboo Resin, the only biodegradable plastic alternative, comes packed in 25 KG bags.
Biodegradable Commodities

Over the past several months, we've illustrated Lastic Bamboo Resin's different applications. In addition, we've consistently explained why Lastic straws are the most logical and top-quality replacement for plastic, PLA, paper, and bagasse (awful name) straws.

Lastic uses its unique, BPI-certified, 100% home and garden compostable bamboo resin to make each Lastic product. Currently, the product range on the market includes only straws and utensils. However, these two applications have fundamentally different production means: straws are made through an extrusion process, while producers use an injection molding process to make utensils. Because the production process differs, Lastic must use different resins to create biodegradable straws and utensils.

While each resin has unique technical specifications, such as varying melt-flow rates (MFR) and a range of tensile strengths, all Lastic Bamboo resins are home and garden compostable and biodegradable. And Lastic makes all bamboo resins by compounding only a few compostable ingredients.

Today, we're discussing the Lastic LABMVB021 extrusion resin. If you guessed, "This is for straws because it's extrusion resin," you're half correct. Yes, it is extrusion resin is for straws. But this particular extrusion resin is not used for straw making. Manufacturers use Lastic LABMVB021 extrusion resin for biodegradable sheet production. Take a look at the technical specifications below:

This is the technical data sheet for the biodegradable resin used to make biodegradable food boxes.

Producers can create various vacuum-pressed applications from LABMVB021 resin-made sheets, including take-out staples like cup lids and food boxes. Lastic aims to use LABMVB021 to mass-produce lids and food boxes by the end of 2022. The future's bright!
